Today is National Motivation and Inspiration Day. It was intended as a day for people to create reasonable goals that they can establish for the year, like New Year’s Resolutions and make a plan to complete them. National Motivation and Inspiration Day was passed as a national day of recognition by The United States Congress after the tragic events of 9/11/01. (H. Res 308 2001)
Today’s donation honors someone who started her goal on this day, 20 years ago. She is someone deserving to be honored today, as her motivation was strong and she remained inspired to keep her personal promise. My sister, Laurie, today, celebrates 20 year of sobriety. Twenty years of life, with all its levels of living, and still her sails continuously move her forward. We couldn’t be more proud of her as she marks this remarkable day. She has accomplished a great deal through her transformations and it has changed her, and those around her. Today’s donation is in honor of Laurie, and will match her number of years of sobriety.
One of her favorite charities is APLA: Aids Project Los Angeles. APLA is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease; reducing the incidence of HIV infection; and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy. They aspire to be a leader in the development and provision initiatives designed to stop HIV transmission and to reduce the human suffering caused by HIV/AIDS. APLA is a voice for people with HIV/AIDS and communities impacted by the disease locally, nationally and internationally.
Donation: $20.

Thanks Tio for all you're doing and all you've done! I'm very impressed and inspired by you both, Tio and Aunt Laurie.
