Day 14: WORLD BRAILLE DAY

World Braille Day is the birth date of Louis Braille the one who invented the system so that blind people could read and write. World Braille Day is celebrated in the entire world and in the honor to recognize the revolution that Louis Braille brought in the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired.  This day gives an opportunity to all the organization that is working for the blind so that they can display their work and promote the Braille language and also educate the others on the issue that is affecting the blind. World Braille Day is organized and celebrated only to encourage people to get united together and bring in the help for the blind people, and develop special communities and activities to mark this day as a special one.

So it is only fitting and appropriate to donate to the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. This foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people who are blind, visually impaired, or with other special needs. Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc. has provided guide dogs free of charge to blind people who seek enhanced mobility and independence. There is no charge for its service, which includes a guide dog, four weeks of training in the dog's use and care, board and lodging while the student is in residence at the Foundation's training center. The Foundation aims to give blind persons better mobility, and to contribute to the rehabilitation progress of able citizens so that they can gain social integration and increased job opportunity for self-sufficiency. The Guide Dog Foundation is supported entirely by donations from generous individuals, corporations and foundations. They receive no government funding.

Donation: $5
